Retail Sector

Designed in-line with the guidelines of 'Retailer Association's Skill Council of India (RASCI) all the programs under the 'Retail' domain prepare students for specific job roles in the Retail Industry, like Store Operations, Sales Associate, etc. Under these programs the students will be trained in merchandise display, interacting with customers to understand their needs, providing specialized services and product demonstrations to the customers, handling retail store operations, etc.

Job Prospects:

With India requiring more than 1.75 crore skilled manpower to run the organized retail sector by the year 2022 this sector will have a large trained manpower requirement and students completing programs under 'STAR Scheme' will have an advantage in getting absorbed in this booming industry.

Store Operations Assistant

The 'Retail Store Operation Assistant' program prepares students for handling day to day store operations like receiving, moving, storing, delivering, and stock taking of products. This is an extremely important function for any retail store as people handling the store operations are responsible for ensuring that the products are available to the customer at the right time while keeping the idle inventory level low thus increasing the profitability of the store.

The training program covers:

• Receiving goods into storage
• Delivering products
• Maintaining required levels of stocks
• Maintain adequate stocks levels inside store for selling
• Taking health and safety measures
• Creating a positive image of self & organization in the customers' mind
• Working effectively in a team
• Working effectively in the organization

Eligibility:

• Age: Minimum 18 years
• Qualification: Class VIII (8) pass

Duration: 1 month

Trainee Associate

The 'Retail Trainee Associate' program trains the students for job roles which includes merchandise display i.e. how to stack products on shelf in a retail store,service the customers as per their needs, sale of relevant product offerings to the customers. The trainee associates perform a key function in a retail store operation since correctly stacking the right kind productsin a methodical manner has shown to generate more sales thus resulting in more revenue for the store.

The training program covers:

• Display stock to promote sales
• Planning and preparing visual merchandising displays
• Dressing visual merchandising displays
• Dismantling and storing visual merchandising displays
• Preparing products for sale
• Promoting loyalty schemes to customers
• Keeping the store secure and maintaining health and safety factors of the store
• Provide information and advice to customers
• Creating a positive image of self & organization in the customers mind
• Working effectively in a team
• Working effectively in the organization

Eligibility:

• Age: Minimum 18 years
• Qualification: Class X (10) pass

Duration: 1 month

Sales Associate

The 'Retail Sales Associate' program prepares students for on the floor job of a retail store which includes constantly interacting with customers, giving specialized services, demonstrating product functioning, helping to maximize business, etc. Sales Associates are extremely important for generating sales and earning revenue for a retail store as they are the interface with whom customers interact before making a purchase decision.

The training program covers:

• Demonstrating products to customers
• Helping customers choose right products
• Providing specialist support to customers facilitating purchases
• Resolving customer concerns
• Maximizing sales of goods & services
• Providing personalized sales & post-sales service support
• Processing credit applications for purchases
• Keeping the store secure and maintaining health and safety factors of the store
• Creating a positive image of self & organization in the customers mind
• Organizing the delivery of reliable service
• Improving customer relationship
• Continuously improvement the service
• Working effectively in a team
• Working effectively in the organization

Eligibility:

• Age: Minimum 18 years
• Qualification: Class X (10) pass

Duration: 1 month

National Skill Development Corporation

The Finance Minister

" A large number of youth must be motivated to voluntarily join skill development programmes. I propose to ask the National Skill Development Corporation to set the curriculum and standards for training in different skills. Any institution or body may offer training courses. At the end of the training, the candidate will be required to take a test conducted by authorized certification bodies. Upon passing the test, the candidate will be given a certificate as well as a monetary reward of an average of Rs. 10,000 per candidate. Skill-trained youth will give an enormous boost to employability and productivity. On the assumption that 10,00,000 youth can be motivated, I propose to set apart Rs. 1,000 crore for this ambitious scheme. I hope that this will be the trigger to extend skill development to all the youth of the country. "
Accordingly, this scheme is hereby implemented to achieve the stated objectives.

Star Scheme Launch By Govt Of India

भारत सरकार द्वारा जारी स्टार स्कीम के तहत 18 वर्ष की आयु से ऊपर वाले युवक-युवतियों को नि:शुल्क बेसिक कंप्यूटर शिक्षा दी जा रही है और 10 फरबरी तक इसकी जी आर आर एम कंप्यूटर एजुकेशन सेंटर बरोटीवाला -बद्दी  में रजिस्ट्रेशन करवाए। यह बात GRRM कंप्यूटर एजुकेशन सेंटर के चेयरमैन संजय राणा व प्रबंध निदेशक श्री जगदीश चंद जरयाल ने कही। जगदीश जरयाल ने बताया कि इसके लिए प्रत्येक को अपना आधार कार्ड व सेन्ट्रल बैंक ऑफ इंडिया या बैंक ऑफ इंडिया का बैंक खाता देना अनिवार्य है और एक डीडी सेंटम लर्निंग के नाम एक हजार का बनाना पड़ेगा। कोर्स पूरा करने के बाद उत्तीर्ण हुए छात्र-छात्राओं के बैंक खाते में दो हजार रुपये एनएसडीसी द्वारा डाले जाएंगे। इस स्कीम का पहला बैच 11 फरबरी से स्टार्ट होगा। इसके सर्टिफिकेट भी भारत सरकार द्वारा ही जारी किए जाएंगे।
